The birch scales provide you with a good grip and offer you a lot of control over the carbon steel blade. This stainless steel version is easy to sharpen razor-sharp. After cutting fresh wood, however, we still recommend making sure the knife stays nice and clean.
We've noticed that this knife is also suitable for thinning tasks. This is an indispensable tool if you're cutting a bow from a piece of wood. You can use it in both a pushing and pulling motion.
